Brand Used Test
Lot 578:
Description
A vintage Coleman Model 220F Double Mantle Pressure Lantern, featuring a utilitarian design with a deep green enameled metal base and vented top cap, complemented by a clear Pyrex glass globe enclosing the internal mantle assembly. Prominent markings include a red “Coleman” logo on the base with “PATENT PENDING” text. A control knob provides instructions: “Open 1/4 Turn to Left and Light,” and “After Mantles Burn Bright Open As Far as Possible Made in U.S.A.” The glass globe is visibly etched with “PYREX,” “MADE IN U.S.A.,” and a smaller “Coleman” logo. Faint, worn text on the underside of the base includes partially visible words such as “THE SUNSHINE,” “AMERICA’S,” “MODEL,” and “COLEMAN,” consistent with the “Sunshine of The Night” branding often associated with Coleman.
Condition report:
Good vintage condition, consistent with age and heavy use. Extensive paint chipping and loss to the enamel finish on the base and top cap. Visible surface rust present on various metal components. General scuffs and dirt accumulation throughout. The rope on the bail handle is frayed. Functionality untested.
