Description
A Winchester Model 1873 lever-action repeating rifle, chambered in .38 W.C.F. (.38 caliber). The rifle features a wooden stock and forend, with dark patinated metal components for the barrel, receiver, and lever. The barrel is marked “WINCHESTER’S-REPEATING-ARMS NEW HAVEN. CT.” and “KING’S-IMPROVEMENT-PATENTED-MARCH 29. 1866. OCTOBER 16. 1860.”. The caliber “38 W.C.F.” is visible near the receiver. “MODEL 1873” is marked on the tang, with the serial number “447105B” below the tang. The firearm retains its original sights and butt plate.
Condition report:
The firearm exhibits significant wear consistent with age and use. There are numerous scratches, dings, and areas of finish loss on both the wood and metal surfaces. The metal components show a dark, patinated finish. Structurally complete. Functionality not tested.
