Vintage Peters Cartridge Co. .45 Colt Auto Ammunition Box with 50 Cartridges
Description
A vintage cardboard ammunition box by The Peters Cartridge Co., labeled for “50 .45 COLT AUTO.C.A. CARTRIDGES” with “230 GRAIN BULLET” and “SMOKELESS POWDER,” manufactured by “THE PETERS CARTRIDGE CO., CINCINNATI, O., U.S.A.” Further markings on the box include “No. 4504” and “C.F. SMOKELESS.” Inside, it contains 50 brass-cased, metal-jacketed ammunition cartridges. Each cartridge bears a headstamp reading “PETERS” and “27.”
Condition report:
The ammunition box is in poor to fair condition, exhibiting significant wear, creasing, tears, and discoloration to its paper label and cardboard structure. The 50 contained ammunition cartridges are in good, aged condition with typical tarnishing.
