Description
This lot comprises a fixed-blade knife manufactured by Union Cutlery Co., Olean, N.Y., under their KA-BAR brand. The ricasso is stamped ‘KA-BAR’ on one side and ‘UNION CUTLERY CO. OLEAN, N.Y.’ on the reverse. The knife features a metal blade with a clip-point profile, a brass-toned metal crossguard, and a dark, textured handle, possibly wood or a composite, secured by multiple brass-toned pins. It is accompanied by its original dark brown leather sheath, which features visible stitching, metal rivets, and a retention strap with a snap closure.
Condition report:
The knife blade exhibits visible wear, scratching, and some discoloration consistent with age and use. The handle shows wear and minor surface imperfections. The leather sheath displays significant wear, scuffs, and creasing, also consistent with age and use. The snap closure on the retention strap is functional.
