Description
A Colt National Match Automatic Pistol, Government Model, made in 1936, representing a classic pre-war 1911-pattern semi-automatic pistol. This specific firearm, serial number C182153, is authenticated by accompanying Colt Archive Properties documentation dated February 28, 2018, confirming its shipment on January 26, 1937. The pistol features a .45/C caliber and a 5-inch barrel, originally finished in blue and furnished with adjustable sights. Visible markings on the slide include “NATIONAL MATCH COLT AUTOMATIC CALIBRE .45” alongside the rearing horse logo, “COLT’S PT.F.A. MFG.CO.HARTFORD, CT.U.S.A.”, and a series of patent dates spanning from April 20, 1897, to August 19, 1913. The pistol is fitted with checkered wood grips.
