Description
A Winchester Model 1895 lever-action repeating rifle, crafted from wood for the stock and forend, and steel with varying finishes, featuring a 21 3/4″ barrel. Visible markings on the left side of the receiver include “MODEL 1895”, “WINCHESTER”, and “TRADE MARK REG. U.S. PAT. OFF & FGN”. The right side of the receiver is marked “MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A.” along with several patent dates, notably “NOV. 5. 95”. The barrel is marked “NICKEL STEEL BARREL”, “ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER”, and “.30 ARMY”. A serial number “93992” and the letter “B” are present on the upper tang. The rifle is equipped with an olive drab canvas sling featuring metal hardware. There is a crack in the buttstock.
Condition report:
Good, used condition. The barrel retains some bluing but shows wear. The receiver and operating lever exhibit significant finish loss, appearing in-the-white with a patinated surface and scattered scratches. There is a crack in the buttstock. Overall, the rifle displays numerous superficial scratches, dings, and finish wear consistent with its age and history of use.
