A Collection of Vintage Peters and Winchester Rifled Slug Shotgun Ammunition, 12 & 16 Gauge, 20 Rounds
Description
A collection of vintage Peters High Velocity and Winchester Super Speed rifled slug shotgun ammunition. This lot comprises 20 rounds of ammunition housed in four vintage cardboard boxes. Two of the boxes are open, revealing the contents. Three boxes are branded “PETERS” featuring “HIGH VELOCITY RIFLED SLUG SHOTGUN SHELLS,” with “RUSTLESS” and “SMOKELESS” notations. Two of these Peters boxes are marked for “16 GA.”, and one for “12 GA.” The fourth box, also open, is a “WINCHESTER SUPER SPEED LOADED WITH LONG RANGE RIFLED SLUGS” of “12 Ga. 2 3/4 In.” gauge, noting “Progressive Burning Smokeless Powder” and “STAYNLESS,” manufactured in New Haven, Conn., U.S.A. All boxes indicate a quantity of “5.” The visible cartridges inside feature brass or copper-colored primers, with varying hull colors including yellow, green, and dark gray/black, bearing headstamps such as “PETERS” and “WINCHESTER MADE IN U.S.A.”
Condition report:
The cardboard packaging shows significant wear, discoloration, creasing, and minor tears consistent with age and storage. The cartridges exhibit some surface tarnish and dust. Overall good vintage condition commensurate with age and use.
