Vintage Remington UMC .38 S&W Smokeless 50 Central Fire Cartridges
Description
A vintage box of Remington Arms-Union Metallic Cartridge Co. .38 S. & W. Smokeless 50 Central Fire Cartridges. Containing 50 live rounds with mixed headstamps. The rectangular cardboard ammunition box features a printed paper label on the lid, detailing the contents, manufacturer (Remington Arms-Union Metallic Cartridge Co., Bridgeport, Conn. U.S.A.), and logos (UMC in a red circle, Remington script). An illustration of a .38 S&W Smokeless cartridge is also present. The exterior sides display a distressed dark patterned finish. The bottom label includes a partially legible ‘GUARANTEE’ text. Upon opening, the box reveals 50 brass-cased cartridges with lead bullets, arranged in internal cardboard separators.
Condition report:
The cardboard box and paper labels exhibit significant aging, wear, tears, and discoloration. The distressed dark patterned finish on the sides shows considerable loss. The bottom label is partially legible due to wear. The cartridges display varying degrees of tarnish and oxidation, with notable verdigris present on at least one round.
