Description
This lot comprises 48 live rounds of vintage Western “X” brand center fire cartridges, caliber 38-40 Winchester, 180 grain soft point. The cartridges are housed in their original yellow, red, and blue cardboard box, which features the distinctive “Western” script over a large “X” logo and explicit warnings such as “Keep out of reach of children.” The box originally contained 50 rounds. The visible cartridges are primarily brass-cased with lead projectiles, some headstamped “W-W” (Winchester-Western) and “38-40 WIN.”
Condition report:
The cardboard box exhibits significant wear, creasing, and discoloration consistent with age and storage. The cartridges appear to be in generally good condition, though some tarnishing is present.
