Description
A vintage cardboard box of Peters Cartridge Company .30-40 U.S. Army Smokeless C.F. Cartridges, containing 20 brass-cased live rounds. The box features distinct orange and green printed labels, identifying the ammunition as “.30-40-220 U.S. ARMY Full Jacket Smokeless,” adapted for “Krag-Jorgensen and Winchester Repeating Rifle, Model 1895,” and manufactured by “THE PETERS CARTRIDGE COMPANY CINCINNATI, O., U.S.A.” A ‘GUARANTEE’ statement is also visible on the side. Each individual cartridge head is stamped “PETERS .30 U.S. ARMY.”
Condition report:
The cardboard packaging displays significant wear, discoloration, creasing, and minor tearing consistent with age. The brass cartridges inside show expected tarnishing.
