Description
A vintage box of 50 rounds of .22 Long Rifle R.F. LESMOK ammunition, produced by The Remington Arms Union Metallic Cartridge Company (UMC) at their Bridgeport, Conn. U.S.A. works. The rectangular cardboard box features a prominent yellow label detailing the caliber, “40 GRS. BULLET,” and company information. Side panels mention “These Cartridges are carefully tested” and are “specially recommended for Remington-UMC Repeating Rifles,” indicating their intended use for target shooting up to 200 yards. The box contains a full complement of 50 cartridges with “U” headstamps.
Condition report:
The box is in poor condition, exhibiting extensive wear, tears, discoloration, and significant surface loss, particularly along the edges and sides. The cartridges inside show tarnish, corrosion, and oxidation on their brass casings and lead projectiles.
