Description
A vintage Winchester .25-35 Caliber Model 1894 ammunition box containing 20 live rounds with mixed headstamps. The cardboard box is clearly labeled “25-35 CALIBER SOFT POINT MODEL 1894” with “117 GRAINS SOFT POINT METAL PATCHED BULLET” and “SMOKELESS POWDER CARTRIDGES” intended “FOR WINCHESTER MODEL 1894 RIFLES,” manufactured by “Winchester Repeating Arms Co., New Haven.” The box was originally designed to hold 20 cartridges. Inside, twenty brass-cased cartridges are present; while most bear Winchester headstamps such as “W.C.F. .25-35” or “W.R.A. Co. .25-35,” at least two cartridges are marked “REM-UMC .25-35,” indicating a mixed lot. The cartridges appear unfired but show typical tarnishing on the brass casings consistent with age.

The cardboard box is in poor condition, exhibiting significant wear, discoloration, creasing, and multiple tears, including one on the side that reveals the contents. The 20 live cartridges appear unfired but show typical tarnishing on the brass casings consistent with age.
