Description
A vintage, full cardboard box containing 50 rimfire cartridges of Remington UMC .22 Long Rifle Lesmok ammunition. The top orange label identifies the contents as “.22 LONG RIFLE R.F. LESMOK” and notes “10 GRS BULLET”. Branding includes “The Remington Arms Union Metallic Cartridge Company” and “UMC BRIDGEPORT WORKS” with locations listed as New York, Bridgeport, Conn. U.S.A., and London. Heavily worn and torn side labels mention “Gallery Practice,” describe the cartridges as “sure fire and accurate,” and notably include “UMC BLACK POWDER.” All contained cartridges display a “U” headstamp.
Condition report:
The cardboard box is in poor, aged condition, exhibiting extensive discoloration, staining, and numerous tears to its black and red paper labels. The contained cartridges, while appearing complete, show significant tarnish and oxidation on their brass casings and darkened lead bullets.
