Winchester Model 1907 Self-Loading Rifle, .351 Caliber
Description
A Winchester Model 1907 self-loading rifle, chambered in .351 caliber. The blued steel receiver is marked “MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. SELF LOADING MODEL 1907” with patent dates from 1901 to 1906, and bears the serial number “16943” along with a “P” proof mark. The barrel is designated “NICKEL STEEL BARREL” and “ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER.” Features include dark wood furniture for the stock and fore-end, a detachable box magazine, a distinctive adjustable rear tang sight, a front sight, and a push-button take-down mechanism on the fore-end. The checkered hard rubber buttplate is marked “WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A.” surrounding a central “W” logo.
Condition report:
The rifle exhibits considerable wear consistent with age and use. There is notable finish loss and surface scratches on the blued metal components. The wooden stock and fore-end show minor dings and wear.
