Vintage Western Super-X 22 LONG Rim Fire Cartridges, 500 Rounds
Description
A vintage brick of Western Super-X 22 LONG Rim Fire Cartridges, containing 500 ROUNDS. The partially open cardboard box is labeled “LONG RANGE—Lubaloy BULLET” and described as “EXTRA CLEAN—WAX COATED”. Production is attributed to “WINCHESTER-WESTERN DIVISION OLIN MATHIESON CHEMICAL CORPORATION” (New Haven, Conn., East Alton, Ill., U.S.A.). A visible side panel repeats “SUPER”, “LONG RANGE”, “22 LONG”, and “SX22L”. Inside the main brick, an opened smaller, blue and yellow box (labeled for “50 RIM FIRE CARTRIDGES”) reveals brass-cased rimfire cartridges with a mix of copper-colored bullets and darker, possibly wax-coated bullets, consistent with the box’s description.
Condition report:
The overall condition of the outer cardboard box is poor, exhibiting extensive creasing, tears, edge wear, and numerous brown stains and discoloration. The visible cartridges appear largely intact, potentially showing minor tarnishing.
