Description
A late 19th to early 20th-century Winchester Model 1894 lever-action rifle, chambered in .30 W.C.F. (Winchester Center Fire) caliber. The rifle is constructed with a wooden stock and forend, and metal components primarily of steel. Prominent markings on the receiver include “MODEL 1894”, “WINCHESTER”, and “PAT AUG.21 1894”. The barrel is marked “MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN CONN. U.S.A.”, “NICKEL STEEL BARREL”, “ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER”, and “30 W.C.F.”. The serial number “60632” is visible on the underside.
Condition report:
The rifle is in fair, used condition, exhibiting significant wear consistent with its age. There is widespread loss of the original bluing, with extensive surface rust and scratching present on the metal components. The wooden stock and forend display numerous dents and abrasions.
