Winchester Model 1890 Takedown Pump-Action Rifle, .22 Long
Description
A Winchester Model 1890 Takedown pump-action rifle. This vintage firearm features a blued steel octagonal barrel and receiver, with a round tubular magazine beneath the barrel. It is paired with a reddish-brown wooden stock and a ribbed fore-end. Markings on the left side of the barrel read “MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. MOD. 1890-“, followed by “NEW HAVEN.CONN. U.S.A. PAT. JUNE 26.88. DEC. 6.92. NOV. 27.06.”. The right side of the barrel is marked “22 LONG” indicating the caliber. The top tang of the receiver bears the inscription “REG. IN U.S. PAT. OFF. -WINCHESTER- =TRADE MARK=”. The serial number “401897 A” is visible on the underside of the receiver.
Condition report:
Good to very good vintage condition. The bluing exhibits expected wear and thinning, consistent with the rifle\'s age and use. The wooden stock and ribbed fore-end show minor handling marks and light surface abrasions. Mechanically appears sound, but functionality is not guaranteed and professional inspection is recommended prior to use.
