Vintage Remington-UMC Kleanbore 30-40 Krag Ammunition Box with 20 Empty Brass
Description
A vintage cardboard ammunition box from Remington Arms Company, Inc., marked “30-40 KRAG AND WINCHESTER SMOKELESS” and “FOR .30 U. S. KRAG ARMY AND WINCHESTER MODEL 1895 RIFLE.” The top of the box features a “REMINGTON UMC KLEANBORE REG U.S. PAT. OFF.” logo, specifies “220 GRAINS METAL CASED BULLET,” and notes “MADE IN U.S.A.” with locations including “UMC BRIDGEPORT WORKS, NEW YORK, BRIDGEPORT, CONN., U.S.A. LONDON.” Visible international trademark registrations include “Marca Reg.” and “Marque Déposée.” The box contains 20 empty brass, which display headstamps such as “REM-UMC” and “30 Krag” or “30 K.”
Condition report:
The cardboard box exhibits expected age-related wear, creasing, and discoloration. The 20 empty brass show some tarnish.
