A Group of Vintage Peters, Western, and Winchester .25-20 Winchester Centerfire Rifle Ammunition, 148 Rounds
Description
This lot comprises 148 rounds of vintage centerfire rifle ammunition. It includes three cardboard boxes: one blue Peters “HIGH VELOCITY” box for “25-20 WIN. 60 GRAIN HOLLOW POINT” cartridges with “KLEANBORE® PRIMING,” one white Western “X” box for “25-20 WINCHESTER 86 GR LEAD” “CENTER FIRE RIFLE CARTRIDGES,” and one yellow Winchester box for “25-20 WINCHESTER 86 GRAIN SOFT POINT” “CENTER FIRE CARTRIDGES,” identified as “W25202.” All boxes originally indicated a quantity of “50” cartridges and include safety warnings such as “WARNING • KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.” The lot also includes loose ammunition. The cartridges feature brass casings and lead bullets.
Condition report:
The cardboard boxes exhibit wear, tears, creasing, and discoloration consistent with age and storage. The brass-cased cartridges with lead bullets appear generally intact, showing some superficial tarnish and oxidation on the casings and bullets, both within the boxes and among the loose rounds.
