Colt New Navy Model 1895 Double Action .38 Caliber Revolver
Description
An antique Colt New Navy Model 1895 Double Action .38 caliber revolver. Manufactured from blued steel, the revolver features dark, checkered grips embossed with the ‘COLT’ rampant colt logo. The barrel is marked ‘COLT’S PT. F. A. MFG. CO., HARTFORD, CT. U. S. A.’ and includes patent dates ‘AUG 5 84 NOV 6 88 MAR 5 95.’ The caliber is identified as ‘COLT. D.A. 38.’ The frame below the cylinder bears the number ‘635,’ and the butt of the grip is marked with Roman numerals ‘X I.’ It features a six-shot cylinder.
Condition report:
The original bluing shows significant wear, with surface abrasions, scratches, and some areas of pitting evident across the metal surfaces. The grips appear largely intact with minor wear. Condition is consistent with age and use.
