Description

A collection of vintage ammunition boxes and cartridges. The lot includes two vintage cardboard ammunition boxes: one from Winchester, featuring “High Velocity” and “Staynless” branding, noting “300 GRAIN SOFT POINT BULLETS,” and marked with a date of “7-26” (July 1926) along with instructions for special sight adjustments; and one from Remington, labeled “Kleanbore” and “DUPONT,” specifying “405 GRAIN SOFT POINT BULLET” and “NON-CORROSIVE PRIMING Ammunition.” The lot also contains 23 ROUNDS of .45-70 Government cartridges, presented in a plain cardboard tray. These cartridges are brass-cased with copper-jacketed soft point bullets, exhibiting mixed headstamps such as “R-P 45-70 GOVT,” “W-W 45-70 GOVT,” and “W 45-70 GOVT.” A closer visual inspection reveals a mix of apparently live cartridges and 8 EMPTY BRASS CASINGS with empty or struck primer pockets within the tray.

Condition report:

Both branded cardboard boxes are in fair to poor condition, showing significant wear, creasing, tears, fading, and discoloration consistent with age and storage. The cartridges generally appear clean with some light tarnish. The lot contains a mix of apparently live cartridges and spent casings.
