Description
An antique Moore’s Patent Firearms Co. Teat Fire Revolver, .32 caliber. This single-action cartridge revolver features a bright metal finish, likely nickel or silver plating, and dark wooden grips. The metal frame, backstrap, and butt are adorned with intricate scrollwork engraving. The barrel is distinctly marked “MOORE & PAT. FIRE ARMS CO. BROOKLYN N.Y.”, and the serial number “3355” is visible on the top strap. These revolvers were produced by Moore’s Patent Firearms Co. and later by National Arms Co., utilizing D. Williamson’s patent for the .32 Teat Fire cartridge, and are often associated with the American Civil War era.
Condition report:
Fair to good antique condition. Shows considerable surface wear, scratching, and areas where the plating has worn through to reveal an underlying yellowish metal. The wooden grips exhibit wear and darkening.
