Description
A blued steel, double-action revolver, identified as a Smith & Wesson U.S. Army Model 1917, serial number 145797. The revolver features a six-shot fluted cylinder and checkered wooden grip panels with a central medallion. The barrel is marked “S. & W. D.A. 45” on one side and “SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS U.S.A. PATENTED DEC.17.1901.FEB.6.1906.SEP.14.1909” on top, with “UNITED STATES PROPERTY” on the other side. The butt of the grip is clearly marked “U.S. ARMY MODEL 1917 NO 145797.” The hammer bears “REG. U.S. PAT. OFF.” A distinctive front sight, marked “KING / LITE / MICH.” with a red insert, appears to be an aftermarket or modified component.

Condition report:
The revolver exhibits significant wear, including extensive thinning and scratches to the blued finish, especially on the frame and cylinder. There is minor wear and marks on the wooden grips. Condition is consistent with a used service weapon.
