Description
A First Model Allen & Wheelock .32 Caliber Sidehammer Percussion Revolver. This antique percussion revolver is constructed primarily of dark oxidized metal with two-piece wooden grip panels. It features a distinct octagonal barrel and a multi-chambered cylinder. Visible markings on the barrel read “ALLEN & WHEELOCK WORCESTER. MS. U.S.” and “ALLEN’S PAT’S. SEPT. 7. NOV. 9 1858”, confirming its American origin and a mid-19th century period.
Condition report:
The overall condition shows extensive wear, including widespread surface oxidation, pitting, and loss of original finish on the metal components. The wooden grips exhibit notable scuffs and general signs of age and use. Functionality not tested.
