Winchester Model 70 Bolt-Action Rifle, .264 Win. Magnum
Description
A Winchester Model 70 bolt-action rifle chambered in .264 Win. Magnum. The rifle features a polished wooden stock with checkered grip panels on the forend and pistol grip. The metal components, including the barrel, receiver, and bolt, exhibit a blued finish. Markings on the barrel read “MADE IN U.S.A. — WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL — WINCHESTER® MODEL — 70 264 WIN. MAGNUM —”. The receiver is stamped “WINCHESTER — TRADE MARK —” and bears the serial number “104382”. It is fitted with iron sights, comprising a ramped front sight and an adjustable rear sight base marked “B & L OPT. CO.” (Bausch & Lomb Optical Co.). The reddish-orange rubber buttplate, textured for grip, displays “WINCHESTER” vertically and “U.S. PAT. NO. D177…” with further obscured numbers. A brown leather sling is attached via swivels.
Condition report:
Overall condition is good to very good. The blued finish on the metal components shows minor wear consistent with use, including light handling marks and some thinning in areas. The polished wooden stock exhibits minor surface scratches and impressions, particularly visible on the buttstock. The checkered grip panels remain distinct. The leather sling shows expected aging, including creasing and minor surface wear. The rubber buttplate has some minor scuffs. Mechanical function is untested.
