Description
A pair of late 19th-century Winchester Model 1882 reloading tools, likely constructed from cast iron or steel. The first tool is marked “W.R.A. Co.” and “32-20 W.C.F.,” and features wooden handles with brass ferrules. The second tool is marked “MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REP ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN CONN U.S.A.” and “25-20 W.C.F. PAT. OCT. 20. 1874. NOV. 7. 82,” and includes a small bullet mold insert. These tools are accompanied by their original cardboard box, printed with “TOOLS FOR RELOADING,” “CENTER FIRE CARTRIDGES,” “WINCHESTER” (Trade Mark), “PATENTED OCTOBER 20th, 1874,” “MANUFACTURED BY THE Winchester Repeating Arms Co. NEW HAVEN, CONN., U.S.A.,” and additional text including “100 22-20,” “6-7,” and “1055.”
Condition report:
The original cardboard box is in poor condition, exhibiting heavy deterioration, extensive tears, discoloration, and missing sections. The tools are in fair-good condition overall, showing varying degrees of surface corrosion and wear. The first tool has significant surface rust. The second tool appears in comparatively better condition with a darker, more even finish. Both tools appear intact.
