Winchester Model 90 Slide-Action Rifle, .22 Long Rifle, with 24" Barrel
Description
An American Winchester Model 90 slide-action (pump-action) rifle, primarily constructed from blued steel and wood. The rifle features a blued octagonal 24″ barrel, distinctly marked “MADE IN U.S.A. WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN, CONN. PAT. JUNE 26.88. DEC. 6. 92. NOV. 27.06. MAY 30. 1911. -MODEL 90-.22 LONG RIFLE.”, identifying it as chambered for .22 Long Rifle. A tubular magazine is located beneath the barrel. The tang plate is marked “TRADE MARK -WINCHESTER- REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. & FGN.” and bears the serial number “603460”, which is also present on the top of the receiver. The receiver additionally displays a “WP” (Winchester Proof) mark within an oval. The rifle is fitted with a ribbed wooden pump-action fore-end and a plain wooden buttstock, completed with a steel buttplate.
Condition report:
The rifle exhibits considerable age and use. There is significant loss of original bluing and case hardening, with widespread surface oxidation across metal components. The wooden fore-end and buttstock show numerous scratches and minor dents consistent with prolonged use and handling. The rifle appears structurally complete.
