Description
A vintage Marlin Model 1893 lever-action rifle, consistent with late 19th-century manufacturing. The rifle features a full-length wooden stock and forend, with blued and case-hardened steel components. Visible markings on the receiver tang include "MODEL < 1893 >" and the serial number "357302". The barrel is marked "MARLIN FIRE-ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN, CT, U.S.A.", "PATENTED, OCT. 11, 1887, APRIL 2, 1889, AUGUST 1, 1893", "SPECIAL SMOKELESS STEEL", and ".32-H.P.S.". The receiver top is also marked "MARLIN SAFETY".
Condition report:
The item exhibits significant wear commensurate with substantial age and use. There is widespread loss of original finish, surface rust, and areas of pitting on the metal components. The wooden stock and forend show numerous scratches, dings, and a visible circular patched repair. Overall condition is fair.
