Description
A vintage box of UMC/Union Metallic Cartridge Co. .32 S&W Smokeless Gallery ammunition. The aged brown cardboard box features black printed text, prominently displaying the ‘UMC’ (Union Metallic Cartridge Co.) trademark. Markings on the box indicate it originally contained ’50 .32 CAL. SMOKELESS Gallery’ cartridges, specifically ‘ADAPTED TO .32 Cal. Smith & Wesson,’ and was ‘Manufactured by THE UNION METALLIC CARTRIDGE CO., BRIDGEPORT CONN., U. S. A.’ One end of the box reiterates ’50 .32 S. & W. Smokeless GALLERY CARTRIDGES. The U. M. C. Co.’ Inside, 30 brass-cased, lead-bullet cartridges are present, arranged in rows, with the remaining space filled by white, folded packing material. The cartridge bases feature visible markings such as ‘U,’ ‘M,’ ‘C,’ ‘S,’ and ‘W.’ The cartridges appear unfired, with the brass showing a typical aged patina and the lead bullets appearing dulled.
Condition report:
The cardboard box is in visibly deteriorated condition, showing significant wear, creasing, tears, and fading to the print. The cartridges exhibit typical aged patina to the brass and dulled lead bullets, consistent with age, and appear unfired.
