Description
A Remington Woodmaster Model 81 semi-automatic rifle, chambered in .300 Savage, with a 22-inch barrel. The rifle is constructed from blued steel for the barrel and receiver, and features a wooden fore-end and buttstock. Visible markings on the left side of the receiver identify it as “THE WOODMASTER TRADE MARK MODEL 81” and “Remington REG. U.S. PAT. OFF.” with serial number “27957”. The barrel is marked “REMINGTON ARMS CO. INC., ILION, N.Y., MADE IN U.S.A.” and also references “BROWNING’S PATS.” with several associated patent numbers. An adjustable rear sight bearing the “LYMAN” brand is affixed, and the front sight includes a green fiber optic insert. The buttplate is checkered and features a “Remington” logo. Internal action components bear the marking “SAV”.
Condition report:
Good, used condition. The wooden stock exhibits numerous scratches, dents, and areas of finish loss. Metal components show various scuffs and areas of bluing wear consistent with age and use.
