Description
A vintage box containing 50 rounds of .32 S&W Center Fire ammunition. The cardboard box, predominantly orange with a green top label, is for “50 .32 CALIBER CARTRIDGES” manufactured by the “WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO.” expressly for “SMITH & WESSON .32 CALIBER REVOLVER.” The green label features the “WINCHESTER” trade mark, “CENTER FIRE” and “SOLID HEAD” specifications, an illustration of a revolver, and the visible code “1-12.” Side panels display “Winchester Make,” “Winchester Repeating Arms Co.” (in script), and a code “4-16,” along with a guarantee statement. The interior contains 50 metallic cartridges, appearing as a mixed lot of .32 S&W Center Fire ammunition, with brass casings and lead bullets. Visible headstamps include “W.R.A. Co. .32 S&W,” “REM-UMC .32 S&W,” and “U” (UMC).
Condition report:
The cardboard box shows considerable age-related wear, including extensive discoloration, prominent staining, edge wear, and some abrasions. The cartridges exhibit varying degrees of tarnish, oxidation, and some surface corrosion.
